HSA Won the Title of Ryerson Challenge Cup 2004

HSA " the tournament favorites" won the final match of Ryerson challenge 2004 by defeating engineers by 5 runs. Hsa tigers presented a classic game which depicts their practice and enthusiasm for the game. Hsa won the toss and elected to bat. Engineers balling attack which is known as the strongest balling attack of the tournament didn't worked that much in the start. Hsa took full advantage of that and scored some crucial runs. After about 5 overs Engineers got hold of the game and managed to restrict Hsa to a score of 65 in 10 overs. In trying to chase a score of 65 , decent planning wasn't observed from the chasing team. Hsa did a superb balling spell to restrict Engineers of getting runs and thus got wickets in regular intervals. Abhi Manu the captain of Hsa did a nice captaincy and made some nice decisions in keeping the course of the match in their direction. Engineers however tried hard and managed to take the match till the last over and lost by 5 runs.

This final match was a classic entertainer , both teams fought very well and proved that they are the qualified teams for the final. However one has to win and other has to loose and winning side is always the better side.

With a bowling line up of higher quality, it was a poor decision on part of Ovais Akbani, Captain Eagles, to give an extra over to the newcomer. After the flamboyant start, Studs lost their way during the middle overs to some tight decent bowling by Ovais Akbani and Owais Ashfaq. they both picked up one wicket each. The introduction of Salman Ali Khan created a big turn around as he was impressive in his bowling. He took 3 wickets and wrapped up the innings within 10 overs.

He showed his class with the bat as well. He solely took the charge to the brilliant Stud's bowling when no one was there for his support.
